Can't find an answer to your question? Then simply contact us using one of the options below, we're always happy to help:
All the information you need is on your prescription. See our help section for more detail.
topWhere do I get my prescription from? You can get your prescription directly from the optician that tested your eyes. It must be no more than 2 years old or your optician may refuse to hand it over to you and may insist on a retest. It’s also helpful to know that under some countries Opticians Act's it is your legal right to demand a copy of your prescription from your optician and you are under no obligation to purchase your frames from the optician that provided the test.
topWho checks to see if the glasses are made to the correct prescription? On receipt of your order one of our dispensing opticians will validate your prescription before the lenses are fitted to the frames. Anything that doesn’t look quite right will be investigated. Uncertainty on the order and you will be contacted via email or telephone to ensure everything is correct. All our lenses are fitted by one of our opticians and will be fitted to the same high standards as that of your high street optician.
topI may have incorrectly entered the wrong information into the prescription area, what can I do?
If you’ve entered any incorrect details please contact us immediately to stop the order before it reaches the lab. We ask you to double check your prescription and your delivery address before finally submitting your order to prevent an unsatisfactory service.
topWhat is a PD and how do I measure mine?
We need this to be able to give you the best possible sight correction from our glasses. You can ask your optician for your PD (Pupil Distance) when you have your eyes tested, but not all opticians will include the measurement in your prescription. The PD makes sure that the centre of the lenses are aligned with your pupils. If you don’t have access to your PD, you can measure your own pupil distance by asking someone to measure the horizontal distance between the centre of both pupils. If you are unable to provide a PD, we will simply use the average PD to finish your order.
topHow do I understand the information from my prescription? On you prescription there will be values for SPH, CYL and Axis. Depending on your age there may be also be a reading for ADD for both of your eyes labelled R for right and L for left. Please enter all the details on the prescription page which is laid out in the same way as your prescription. If you have any problems reading or understanding the values on your prescription please contact us either by phone or email and our dispensing optician will be able to assist with your order.
topCan a contact lens prescription be used to order my glasses? No, a contact lens fits closer to the eye, so a contact lens prescription will always be different to your glasses prescription.
topWhat if my prescription is out of range when i try and input it whilst buying some glasses?
The maximum prescription we can offer is ±8.00 SPH (sphere) and ±4.00 CYL (cylinder). Unfortunately we cannot provide you with lenses any stronger then this, but we will happily provide you with the frame only.
